Font Print - a PostScript utility for printing font charts
To print a font, select "Print Font Chart" from the Print menu. A list of fonts will be retrieved from the printer.
Note that this list does NOT include the contents of the 'Fonts' folder in your Mac's system folder, which are temporarily downloaded by the driver each time you print and are not resident on the printer.
To make fonts in your 'Fonts' folder available to Font Print, use a font download utility to send them to the printer. Documents using these fonts will then print faster as well.
Select one or more fonts to be printed; a dialog will then appear with buttons for chart size, binding margin and manual feed options.
The 3-hole punch option sets an wide margin; select either a left- or right-hand page. Use it only with the small and medium chart size for 1-byte (Roman) fonts, and small size only for 2-byte (Kanji) fonts.
If a single font is selected for printing, the dialog displays the font type and number of glyphs. If multiple fonts are selected, the number of each type selected is displayed.
The 'Prefs…' item under the edit menu allows the communication timeout (for Printer Access Protocol) to be specified in seconds. The language option is not yet implemented.
